On the base of new development during the second quarter of 2007 must be mastered the commercial production of LCD- modules with a thickness of 1,9 mm, the thinnest of the commercial accessible on the market. Such displays will be established in the cell phones samsung series ultra edition II, whose sales start in spring. The thickness of such hardware will be located in the range from 6,9 to 12,9 mm. Thinnest of similar developments samsung SDI is until today OLED, whose prototype, developed in the laboratory has a thickness in 0,6 mm; however, its mass production thus far is not planned. The representatives of developer main reason call that the fact that the market for the OLED- screens of this class thus far practically is absent, competitors are not ready to present development, but it means completely it is possible to manage with LCD- technology.
