As is known, during November of last year nikon was derived on the market budgetary compact 6 mega-pixel SLR- camera model d40. For many this step seemed completely risky, indeed user in majority looks at mega-pixel, and another vendor already at that time proposed inexpensive 10 mega-pixel . But more than obtainable price in 600 dollars for the complete set with the regular zoom lens it allowed company to fill niche on lower than the budget decisions of competitors. For the exhibition PMA 2007 company nikon prepared the interesting surprise: 10 mega-pixel SLR- camera D40X. Dada, this is all the same compact  d40, but with the contemporary 10 mega-pixel - sensor. Furthermore, the rate of fire of new version increased to 3 frames per second, and the minimum value of equivalent sensitivity now composes 100 units ISO. Taking into account the changed specifications and compact overall dimensions,  Nikon came out valuable competitor to popular camera canon EOS 400D. Yes even price is completely adequate: 730 dollars for small carcass and 800 dollars for complete set with objective AF- S DX zoom nikkor 18-55 mm ED II. The beginning of sales for D40X is planned on 22 March. The release of this model will not only aggravate competition in its price range, but also, probably, it will allow well-off amateur photographers to hope for further reduction in price of the base 6 mega-pixel version d40.
