About the plans, the prospects and possibilities, which promised to us the developments of company new medium enterprises, we told in the past year. Now company NME reports about obtaining the corresponding patent on its technology versatile multilayer disc (VMD). True, if earlier for VMD was mentioned the possibility of work with disks, which have to 20 layers (5 Gb on each layer), then source now reports only about eight layers for VMD. The special feature of technology is the fact that it equally suitable well both for creating disks on the dark-blue laser and on the red. VMD is also calculated for one- and bilateral disks, and also for the multiformat record, including Blu-ray and HD-DVD. Patent NME describes the basic principles of technology for creating the inexpensive multilayer optical drive. Here are also described the principles of modified process 2P, which is necessary for creating more than two layers on one-sided disk, and also makes possible to create the copy of multilayer disks.
